The museum concentrates on the fortress city fought over by European countries, as well as the economic (ARBED, amongh others), political (independence in 1890), religious (Marian cult) and cultural aspects of the capital of the Grand Duchy. The upper floors are given over to the many changes which transformed society in the 20th Century. Among the helmets, don't miss a magnificent engraved morion from the 16th Century and the maple models showing the urban development of the city.
