This town is situated on the Oesling plateau (315M high) and is a trade and industrial town, a tourist centre and an international scouting centre with 12 chalets and fifteen or so campsites spread throughout the surrounding woods. The low town stretches along the bank of the Wiltz while the upper town, the picturesque district, is squeezed on to a rocky spur, between the church and the old castle.
