The completely renovated Museu do Homem do Nordeste is located in a modern building surrounded by gardens. It offers a very rich and varied presentation of different aspects of Pernambucan culture: costumes, homes, everyday objects, crafts and so on. Each of the artefacts sheds a fascinating light on sugar production, the traditional way of life, and folk and religious events. The collections are made up of exhibits formerly distributed between three museums: the Sugar Museum, Anthropology Museum and Popular Arts Museum.
