Cristo Redentor Highly Recommended Highly Recommended Highly Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The statue of Christ the Redeemer, which looks out over Rio from atop Corcovado, has become the universal emblem of the city. Designed by Heitor da Silva Costa and Paul Landowski in 1922 in response to a competition set to mark Brazil's centenary (1922), the statue weighs in at 145t and stands at a height of 30m! Make your way up to the top of this vertiginous promontory on a clear day to get the best views of the city.
