Rocky peaks, waterfalls, wild animals and tropical species await you at the Parque Nacional da Tijuca, the world's largest urban forest (32km²), situated in the heart of Rio. Make sure you see the Pico da Ticuja (1012m), the Capela Mayrink, the Vista Chinesa, the Açude da Solidão… More adventurous (and more athletic) types can fly over the forest in a hang-glider or climb up the cliff faces! To get there, use the services of a guide (to avoid getting lost or falling in with bad company), or hire a car and get yourself a good map.
