Ingres, Poussin, Matisse, Goya, Botticelli, Turner, Van Dyck… you aren't dreaming; you really are in São Paulo, at the Museu de Arte, which owns the largest collection of European art in Latin America. Be sure to visit the other collections of Brazilian, African and Asian art, which are just as interesting. The building in which the museum is housed, located on Avenida Paulista, is in itself worth coming for: designed by Lina Bo Bardi in 1968, the concrete, metal and glass structure looks as if it were suspended from two enormous red beams.
