Hardly anything remains of the 10C monastery, where the patriarch Euthymius founded the Turnovo literary school in 1375. However, this blue and white women's monastery, nestling beneath an impressive rocky cliff, conveys an impression of intense serenity. Decorated with climbing vines, it is enhanced by lovely small flower gardens. The church, built in 1847 by Kolju Ficeto, fits harmoniously in this peaceful, silent place, disturbed only by the song of birds.
