Things to see and do - Blagoevgrad
Blagoevgrad Travel guide
Blagoevgrad : Michelin's recommendations
Originally a Thracian settlement and subsequently an Ottoman stronghold, Blagoevgrad is now the administrative and cultural capital of the Pirin region. This university city retains an unspoilt quarter, Varosa, its traditional houses having been sympathetically restored. Also worthy of note, the Church of Our Lady (1844) has wall paintings of the Bansko School.
