The municipal Fine Arts Museum is housed in a 19C neo-classical building. Beyond the garden dotted with contemporary sculptures, stands the museum which presents a fairly comprehensive panorama of modern and contemporary Bulgarian painting. Among artists represented are: icon painter Stanislav Dospevski, landscape painter Atanas Mihov (1880-1975), Vladimir Dimitrov "Majstora" (1882-1960), David Perec (1906-1982), Zlatju Bojadžiev (Siesta, 1971), Vasil Barakov (1902-91) and Valcan Petrov who uses a highly personal style to perpetuate the icon-painting tradition.
