You are here on the town centre's main street, between the Sahat tepe hill and the three hills on which Old Plovdiv is situated. Lined with neo-Baroque buildings, this pedestrian shopping street draws the crowds. In fine weather, people gathering around the ice-cream kiosks are an entertaining sight in themselves. Girls in short skirts mingle with fans of the local football club (winner of the Bulgarian football cup in 2004) and farmers from the nearby Rhodope mountains in town for the day, against the cheerful background noise.
