Stefan Hindlijan's House, hidden behind high walls, was once owned by Armenian merchants. Today, it is generally considered as the finest house in Plovdiv. Its particularly harmonious façade (white friezes against a pale-blue background) is preceded by a vast courtyard and a chapel now used as an art gallery. Do insist on visiting the house. The interior contains mural paintings and carved ceilings. The plush furniture and the hammam are relics of a very oriental life style.
