Captain-Djado-Nikola Square, with its irregular plan, forms one of Bulgaria's finest architectural ensembles in the National Awakening style. The pleasant square features several interesting elements: the old Clock tower, the church of St-Michael-the-Archangel with its stone-slab roof, Slavejkov School (Stara Škola) as wekk as houses converted into inns or art galleries.
