Steps hewn out of the rock give access to the Baco Kiro Cave, situated at the end of a shaded path which starts from Djarnovo monastery. First explored in 1890, this cave revealed traces of human habitat dating from the Palaeolithic period. The tour (500m of galleries out of the 6km already explored) takes visitors through several chambers, some of them of impressive dimensions. Along the way, beware of the slippery ground and low ceiling.
