The Cepinska Valley narrows into a picturesque gorge. The road and the railway line, which run alongside the river, reach Velingrad at Pazardžik. Going through the villages of Varvara, Lozen and then Zvanicevo (wickerwork), one soon reaches Pazardžik. This city, lying on the left bank of the Marica, boasts a pleasant network of narrow streets shaded by lime trees.
