The interest of this History Museum lies in its multidisciplinary approach. It deals with archaeology (weapons, prehistoric pottery, stone stelae on the theme of horsemen dear to the Thracians, medieval gold work), with history (the saga of Botev, the Bulgarian poet and patriot who died in 1876, is illustrated in detail) and with art. Not to be missed are: the section devoted to the region's goldsmiths, the Rogozen silver treasure (5C-3C BC) and the Vraca gold treasure consisting of 600 objects including a superb crown.
