The Sokolski Monastery was founded in 1833. The monastic buildings surround a pleasant garden with a central fountain erected by the famous architect Kolju Ficeto (1800-81). Lower down and further to the right is the Church of the Assumption with its fine stone-slab roof. The visit reveals an interior entirely covered with murals. The nearby cave is a place of reverence: in 1856, eight rebels were hanged here.
