Fort Anne National Historic Site Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

A peaceful expanse of green in the centre of town, this fort suffered 14 sieges during the Anglo-French wars. In 1917 Fort Anne became the first National Historic Park (now Site) in Canada. Existing earthworks were built by the French from 1702 to 1708 with later alterations by the British. In one of the bastions stands a stone powder magazine of the French period. From the earthworks there is a view of the Annapolis Basin.
