Officers' Quarters at Fort Anne National Historic Site Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
A distinctive building with high chimneys and dormer windows stands in the centre of the fort. Built in 1797 by order of Prince Edward, the quarters, now restored, house a museum, which includes a display on the fort's military history. Outside flies the flag of the Grand Union, a combination of the English cross of St. George and the Scottish cross of St. Andrew. The Union Jack as we know it today did not come into existence until the union with Ireland in 1801, when the cross of St. Patrick was added.
