Baddeck
: Michelin's recommendations
Overlooking Baddeck Bay, this village claims a lovely site on the northern shore of Bras d’Or Lake, a vast body of saltwater within the centre of he island roughly 100km/62mi long and 50km/31mi wide. This immense inland sea cuts Cape Breton Island in two. It is fed in the north by the Atlantic via two channels, the Great Bras d’Or and the Little Bras d’Or and either side of Boularderie Island. The lake is surrounded almost entirely by high hills and low mountains. Bras d’Or Lake’s resemblance to a Scottish loch has attracted many settlers of Scottish origin to its shores.
