A native of Yorkshire, England, Isaac Smith designed this three-storey sandstone building (1847) in the Georgian style with Neoclassical details. The Confederation Chamber, site of the Charlottetown Conference, is restored to its 19C appearance with many of the original furnishings. The provincial legislature still meets in the legislative chamber.
