Grain products are shipped to and from port elevators, and nearly three-quarters of the rock salt from the mine is shipped from here. Small craft berth at the city marina and a fleet of tugboats service entering and exiting freighters. Occupying the wheelhouse of a former lake freighter, a small marine museum traces Goderich's shipping industry. Especially in warmer weather, residents and visitors alike are drawn to the sandy beaches, snack bars and extensive boardwalk to exercise, socialize and observe lake activity.
