The striking turquoise waters of this lake are fed Peyto Glacier. Mistaya Mountain rises sheerly from the opposite side of the lake, with Peyto peak on its left. The road descends to the valley and passes a series of lakes. At Lower Waterfowl Lake lookout 56km/35mi) there is a fine view of the Great Divide peaks, particularly towering Howse Peak and pyramidal Mt. Chephren.
