Space Science Centre
Space Science Centre : Michelin's recommendations
Interactive consoles, mural panels, scale models, large-scale replicas, simulators and videos make for a fascinating, hands-on visit to Canada's only museum devoted to the history and exploration of space. A path through the exhibits traverses six different thematic sections, initiating visitors to the wonders of the universe. In the first section, a multimedia show traces the history of human space exploration. In the second section, various scientific instruments of yesteryear bring home the incredible technological strides achieved in human knowledge of the universe. The third section focuses on telecommunications. Earth is next-the importance of water, continental drift, undersea mountains, and other aspects of our planet are examined. The fifth section boasts two themes: teledetection and its various roles, ranging from meteorology to espionage;" and human exploration of the moon. The last section offers the chance to explore the solar system. The final exhibit ("Are We Alone?") details historic efforts to communicate across the universe.
