Set on the slopes of Mt. Royal, Canada's oldest university (1821) has witnessed much growth over the years and today claims an enrolment of some 30,000 students. The buildings gracing the 32ha/79 acre campus reflect a variety of architectural styles. Located on the campus and housed in a large structure designed in the style of an antique temple, the Musée d'histoire naturelle Redpath (Redpath Museum of Natural History) displays vertebrate and invertebrate fossils, minerals, zoological artifacts, African art objects and Egyptian antiquities.
