Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

This 140-year-old institution boasts a permanent collection of over 33,000 objects ranging from Old Masters to contemporary Canadian art. The Beaux-Arts main edifice, known as the North Pavilion (1912), presents Canadian art, decorative arts and antiquities, while the South Pavilion (1991) displays masterpieces from all over the world. The buildings are linked by a series of underground galleries that exhibit Ancient and Oceanic art. Created by renowned architect Moshe Safdie, a new annex showcases temporary exhibits in five large vaulted galleries; a new pavilion devoted exclusively to Canadian art will open in 2011.
