Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Note the gold-leaf statue of the Madonna and Child between the steeples. To the right of the basilica, there is a statue of Joseph-Eugene Guigues, the first bishop of Ottawa, who was responsible for the cathedral's completion. The very fine woodwork of the interior was carved in mahogany by Philippe Parizeau. Around the sanctuary there are niches that contain statues of the prophets, patriarchs and apostles crafted in wood by Louis-Philippe Hébert, though they have been painted to look like stone.
