Especially noteworthy is its fine collection of native Northwest basketry, argillite and wood carvings. Note especially the Tsimshian mortuary frog, the only remaining item of its kind. The museum building itself, constructed of massive red cedar posts and beams, is impressive. At the carving shed visitors can watch First Nations craftspeople demonstrate their talents.
