Situated at the mouth of the Saguenay River, Tadoussac occupies a beautiful site on the cliffs and sand dunes lining the north shore of the St. Lawrence. A boardwalk extends alongside the St. Lawrence linking the old chapel and the Chauvin trading post, just beneath the Hôtel Tadoussac, a long, red-roofed structure. The extremely lively town attracts visitors who come especially to see the whales that visit the plankton-rich waters at the mouth of the Saguenay for a few months each year.
