Parliament Buildings Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

On the south side of James Bay stands a long, squat stone building with a central dome, topped by a gilt statue of Capt. George Vancouver. Designed by Francis Rattenbury (1867-1935) and completed in 1898, "the buildings," as they are known, house the British Columbia legislature and government offices. Stationed in front of them is a bronze statue of Queen Victoria. A highly decorated arch beneath the dome marks the entrance. At dusk thousands of small lights outline the buildings' exterior, adding a romantic flair.
