This large and pleasant zoo offers a tropical house. Not far from the zoo, and within Assiniboine Park, is the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, a delightful, landscaped setting of trees, reflecting pool and flower plantings in which to showcase the Ukrainian sculptor's works. Paintings and sketches are housed in the adjacent gallery. The Winnie the Bear sculpture (named for Winnipeg) is said to be the inspiration for A.A. Milne's character Winnie the Pooh.
