Perched on a rock outcropping on the shores of Lake Ramsey, a hexagonal exhibit building resembling a snowflake (representing the glacial action that shaped Northern Ontario) is set over a cavern blasted out of the rock (to represent the probable creation of Sudbury Basin by a meteor). Exhibits emphasize engaging firsthand experience with science and technology. The complex also include a planetarium and IMAX theatre, in addition to hosting regular speakers.
