Dominated by the church and steeple, this village is perched on a cliff overlooking the sea opposite the island of Cres. Inside the village walls lie the ruins of a fortress, but its main appeal lies in its maze of steps, vaulted passageways, cul-de-sacs and tiny flowered courtyards. The fishermen's houses, many of which offer rooms to rent, cover the cliff-side in a tangled patchwork.
