Famous for its vineyards, the magnificent underground cellars of Ilok, dug in the 14C in the hill on which the castle is built, are still intact. The local wine is aged in these galleries, which can hold a thousand barrels. The city also stores its prize collection of vintage wines here, as well as enormous casks with a capacity of 56,000 litres.
