Mali Ston : Michelin's recommendations
This very ancient village became part of the Republic of Dubrovnik from 1333 as its ramparts which climb up the mountainside illustrate. At the time it protected the northernmost limit of the Raguse territory. The fortress, designed by the same architects as the ramparts of Dubrovnik, dates from the same era. The village itself has retained its old lanes, where clothes hang out to dry between the old stone houses. Take the time to sample the local mussels and oysters in the 15C port.
