Close your eyes and imagine a deep blue sea dotted with colourful fishing boats, a port nestling in a cove and lined with pastel coloured façades, out at sea, an island and a few islets covered in dark, almost black vegetation and finally a peninsula which closes off the cove: you are in Rovinj! Yellow-, red- and ochre-coloured Italian-style houses are strewn over the peninsula in a tangled mass around a Venetian campanile. Quite enchanting!
