The charm of the old town of Rovinj lies in its narrow streets lined with high houses and folding shutters. Some lead to Piazza Matteotti, others to the main square (Veli trg/Piassa Grande), lined with old houses. You will also come across the lovely Grisia, which means "church" in the local dialect, with its attractive façades and delightful inner courtyards. Finally don't miss the cathedral of St Euphemie whose campanile commands a superb view of the roofs, the isthmus, the port and the sea.
