Škrip
: Michelin's recommendations
This picturesque village, perched on hills amid a rocky landscape, stands opposite the lofty ridges of the Mosor mountains on the other side of the Brac canal. It retains many links to the island’s Roman past. Roman architects had Skrip stone extracted during the expansion of Salona, but large-scale exploitation of the quarries only began after the construction of Diocletian’s Palace in Split when a new community of stonemasons arrived from across the Empire, particularly the Middle East.
