Amphitheatre : Michelin's recommendations
Built around 170, the amphitheatre could seat more than 15 000 spectators. Although severely damaged, it has preserved its overall structure. On its south side, underground passageways leading directly to the sea can be seen beneath the floor - this was how wild animals (imported by boat) were led to the arena.

Pros
Le site de l'ancienne ville de Salona est vraiment très vaste: il faut au moins une heure pour le parcourir. Ceci rend bien compte de son ampleur et importance d'autrefois.
Cons
Les ruines sont aujourd'hui sans intérêt pour un touriste moyen. Deux étoiles c'est certainement exagéré, même une étoile est discutable. Le bâtiment le mieux conservé est la basilique chrétienne à l'entrée qu'on peut d'ailleurs visiter sans payer l'accès au site (20 HRK = 2,75 EUR).
