The intact 16C Venetian ramparts can still be seen at the tip of the Riva. The circular bastion, adorned with a winged lion, divides the Riva from the port of Foša, in front of the Terra Firma gate. Note the additional gate system, which formerly served the customs' office and controlled the access canal to the town.
