Built from the 1C BC to the 3C AD, this is the largest forum in Croatia (95m by 45m). Although partially overrun by later buildings, it has retained its pavement and numerous vestiges. The capitol used to stand towards the west, where there was also the city's largest temple, dedicated to Jupiter, Juno and Minerva. After a violent earthquake in the 6C, the buildings surrounding the forum were destroyed. Many elements and stones were retrieved for various buildings.
