Located since 1890 in a building designed by Herman Bollé to house both the museum and the Zagreb School of Decorative Arts (Obrtna Skola), the MUO boasts three floors of superb collections of applied art from Gothic to Biedermeier and religious art (in particular a series of late-17C sculptures by Ivan Komersteiner) to historicism and design (wrought iron by Duro Buric in the Secession/Art Nouveau style). The museum also displays a retrospective of 20C Croatian art.
