Gothic in origin (note the buttressed chevet which has preserved its original structure), the church adjoining the monastery was largely rebuilt and extended in the Baroque style between 1719 and 1763: the façade was restored, and side chapels and an onion dome added. The interior decor is extraordinary – admire the spectacular pulpit, the rich altarpiece adorned with a painting by Ivan Garikovac, and on the right a gallery entirely in gold and plaster, an example of the exuberant Baroque style.
