Two 18C Venetian gates lead into the old town of Cres. Take the time to wander around the maze of alleys (Zagrad, Sv Sidar), some of which are vaulted and lined with high houses, which lead to cul-de-sacs and courtyards. In summer, it is pleasantly cool. Don't miss the 12C Church of St Isidore (Sv. Sidar) and the church of Our Lady of the Snow with its distinctive steeple and Baroque altars.
