The river tumbles down 17 natural landings, over a distance of 800m and a height of 45.70m. The average rate of flow is 55,000 litres per second but it can reach up to 300,000 litres during the rainy season. An enchanting path skirts the waterfalls. On the opposite bank are some beautifully restored traditional stone houses, including a watermill, weaving workshop and a wash house. Beneath the falls is a natural lake where the waters are calm enough for bathing.
