Tomás Terry Theatre
: Michelin's recommendations
To the right on emerging from the cathedral, on the corner of Calle 27, stands this theatre (1889), named after a sugar magnate of Venezuelan origin. Its neo-Classical façade is the product of restoration, but the auditorium is unchanged, its rows of wooden seats able to accommodate 950 spectators. The balconies have an elegant sobriety and a fine fresco embellishes the ceiling. Visitors can access the stage. Behind the scenes, a steep staircase leads to the roof overlooking Parque José Martí.
