Opposite the theatre, this unmissable museum built in 1928 includes great names from the history of world painting. From Breughel the Younger to Velasquez taking in Tintoretto and Carpaccio on the way. It starts with an amazing collection of religious art from Latin America, continues with pieces from Antiquity, then pictures by German, English and Italian artists, before concluding with French painting (Corot, Courbet, Fantin-Latour etc) and Spanish art, all superbly presented.
