On the corner of Bolivar Street and Amistad Street, Palacio de Aldama is composed of two buildings, erected in 1840 for a rich aristocrat. Ironically, it is today home to the institute for the history of the Cuban workers’ movement and the socialist revolution. The caretaker can grant access to the two patios, one embellished by a lion’s head fountain and the other with azulejos.
