Opposite the cathedral, this palace is the square’s oldest residence (1720). It has been the office of Havana’s court clerks, the office of a republican newspaper and the headquarters of the state rum manufacturer. Today it houses the Museo de Arte Colonial, providing an interesting perspective on the colonial period of the 17C-19C.
