Established in the 19C by fishermen from the Cayman Islands (between Jamaica and Cuba), this village derives its name from its founders’ home island rather than the crocodiles that inhabit the region. Descendants of these Caïmaneros, some of whom still speak English, continue to live here on this magnificent coastline punctuated by inlets.
