Santa Clara Travel guide
Santa Clara
: Michelin's recommendations
Santa Clara lies on the north slopes of the Sierra del Escambray, midway between the Atlantic and the Caribbean. The vivacity of this provincial capital is in contrast to the torpor which prevails in surrounding rural towns, and is partly thanks to the many students attending the university here. This ambience is best savoured in Parque Leoncio Vidal, where each weekend local bands gather for open-air dances. Events at the late-19C Teatro de la Caridad provide further cultural diversion.
